Ultralight and flexible CNT-doped veils

The ultra-light and easy-to-shape nonwovens which we produce, based on a thermoplastic polymer and carbon nanotubes (CNT-doped veil), provides conductive properties to the composite structures in which it is embedded. It also improves their mechanical properties, increasing their impact strength and limiting delamination.

Intermediate product in composite material production processes

The CNT-doped veils we offer are intermediate products in composite material production, used as:

  • surface finishing to achieve electrical and thermal conductivity (1)
  •  interleaves in layered composites to improve electrical as well as thermal and mechanical properties while at the same time eliminating the problem of delamination (2)

Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers

CNT-doped veils can be used in Carbon or Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymers manufactured with techniques using liquid resin or pre-pregs based on epoxy or polyester resins.

Eliminating the use of nanoparticles in hazardous form

CNT-doped veils allow for the safe and easy introduction of carbon nanotubes into composites, eliminating the need to work with nanotubes in hazardous powder form.
CNT-doped veils are delivered in the form of rolls with a maximum width of 30 cm.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes

The nanofiller used are multi-walled carbon nanotubes, which are stirred with a selected polymer and granulated. The amount of nanotubes in the veils is adapted to the desired composite properties.
We also produce veils doped with other fillers or without any fillers, depending on the composite structures’ desired functionalities.

Wide selection of veils

The nonwovens are produced from different plastics varying in melting temperature and compatibility with the resins used in composite production processes.
In addition to the nonwovens in stock (coPA, PA12, PBT, ECTF and PPS), we can also develop new ones adapted to customer requirements.

Varied areal weight

We possess the ability to produce nonwovens with varied areal weight – from 10g/m 2 to >100g/m 2. The nonwovens have different thicknesses depending on the areal weight.

Thermally bonded fibres

These materials have the form of entangled fibres with diameters under 100 μm, their advantage being the lack of chemical binder.
